Many drivers consider vehicle tracking devices and driver cameras within their company’s trucks an excuse for Big Brother to scrutinize their performance, but one company driver recently became a forever fan when StreetEagle’s GPS and driver cam saved him from a false accusation that could have jeopardized his job and future.
A call came into the office from the local station that a complaint and police report had been filed against one of Michael’s more seasoned drivers. The accusation was that his driver was texting, drifted into the other lane causing the driver of the white Honda CRV to bump the guard rail before being able to return to the highway causing damage to their front end.
What the owner of the CRV didn’t know is that HLW Electric’s fleet of service trucks are outfitted with StreetEagle fleet management software and in-cab cameras. Michael was able to request video clips from the StreetEagle platform using his mobile device and generate driver behavior reports that proved his driver’s innocence – no cell phone in hand at all and analytics consistent with safe driving behavior. The driver of the Honda CRV recanted the allegation and admitted that they had taken their eyes off the road leading to their run-in with the guard rail.
HLW Electric’s driver was thrilled that StreetEagle’s integrated truck dash cam and driver behavior software were able to prove his innocence – saving both his job and HLW’s insurance rate.
